Important: Homestay vs Hotel

Kinglayang is a Homestay, not a commercial hotel. We offer a warm, family-oriented environment amidst nature. While we strive for luxury service, please understand that we operate in a hilly region where occasional power cuts or network fluctuations may occur. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Welcome to Kinglayang Homestay. By booking a stay with us, you agree to the following terms. We keep things simple and transparent so you can focus on enjoying your vacation.

1. Booking & Payment Policy

  • Advance Requirement: A deposit of 50% of the total booking amount is mandatory to confirm your reservation.
  • Balance Payment: The remaining 50% must be paid upon arrival during check-in. We do not offer credit.
  • Accepted Modes: We accept UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), Bank Transfers (NEFT/IMPS), and Cash. Credit/Debit cards may be subject to network availability.
  • Confirmation: A booking is considered "Confirmed" only after the advance payment is received and a confirmation voucher/message is sent by our management.

2. Check-In & Check-Out

  • Flexibility: We try to be flexible with timings whenever possible. If you need an early check-in or late check-out, just let us know in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate you (subject to room availability).
  • ID Proof: As per Indian Law, please carry a valid photo ID (Aadhar, Voter ID, Passport) for all guests.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Zero Cancellation Fee

We currently offer a highly flexible cancellation policy for our guests.

  • Free Cancellation: You may cancel your booking at any time prior to your scheduled check-in.
  • Refund Process: We will refund 100% of the advance amount paid.
  • Deductions: The only deduction will be the applicable Bank Transaction / Payment Gateway Charges (if any) incurred during the initial payment processing.

4. House Guidelines

We want you to feel at home. Here are a few simple guidelines to keep everyone happy:

  • Smoking: We want everyone to breathe fresh mountain air. Please use the balconies, gardens, or open areas for smoking. Ashtrays are available on request!
  • Drinks & Vibes: You are on vacation—cheers to that! Feel free to enjoy your drinks in your room or the common areas. We just ask that you keep the vibe friendly and respectful for everyone.
  • Music: We love music! Feel free to play your tunes. As the night gets deeper (around 10 PM), we usually switch to "acoustic mode" or lower volumes so everyone can enjoy the sound of the river and crickets.
  • Pets: Furry friends are family too! We are generally pet-friendly. Just give us a heads-up so we can prepare for them.

5. Damages & Liability

  • Property: We put a lot of love into our decor. If something breaks accidentally, please let us know. Significant damages might be charged to the bill.
  • Nature Risks: Kinglayang is located near forests and rivers. We encourage you to explore, but please be careful during treks or river visits. Guests enter these areas at their own risk.

6. Jurisdiction

Any legal disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kalimpong / Jalpaiguri, West Bengal.
